Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this study is to determine the mediating effect of person-organization fit on the effect of intrepreneurship on staff’s work engagement. Design/methodology/approach – The sample of the study consists of 382 employees working in Balıkesir. Data colleted with data tool and data were analyzed using mediation effect via SPSS and PROCESS macro software. In addition, Bootstrap test, Sobel Z test and Aroian test were used to determine mediation effect. Findings - It was observed that person-organization fit a partial mediating role on the effect of intrepreneurship on work engagement. Discussion – One of the most important issues that managers expect their employees to do their job with passion, enthusiasm and eagerness. Organizations can achieve their goals with employees who open to innovation, who take risks, who develop themselves, and who are committed to their work in harmony with the organization. As a result of increased intrepreneurship behaviors of employees, increased to their work engagement, this study. In addition, person - organization fit affects positively to this attitude. Incase employees who have high level intrepreneurship behaviors, fit the organizations; their passion for their work increase. There are many factors that affect work engagement and intrepreneurship in organizations. In future studies, if the research are added issuses that affect intrepreneurship, it can be obtained extensive model and conclusions.
