Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to see the concept transformation of the subject of smart supply chain management by examining the transformation of the fourth industrial revolution on supply chain management with the bibliometric analysis method. Desing/ methodology/approach – Bibliometric analysis was conducted with 476 articles and papers in the Web of Science (WOS) database between 2001-2021 and obtained by entering the relevant keywords. The bibliometric analysis was carried out by the co-occurrence method and the visual mapping program Vosviewer was used for the analysis. Findings – As a result of the analysis, 10 main clusters and 79 sub-concepts within each main cluster were found and word-based relationship networks were determined. The clusters found are respectively; integration, virtualization, continuity, usage, data interaction, smart manufacturing, business-to-business (b2b) market, suppliers, multi-channel systems, and organizational innovation. As a result of the intense interaction of supply chain management with the fourth industrial revolution, interactive and self-controlled smart machines have come to the fore. From this point of view, it has been determined in which processes the concept of smart supply chain progresses in the context of an academic field, as a reflection of smart systems that have started to become a large-scale field. Discussion – In line with the research findings, it has been observed that the subject of Industry 4.0 and supply chain integration is frequently examined under the headings of digital and electronic. The study also emphasized the limited representation of the conceptualization of the intelligent supply chain, which creates its decision mechanism. The bibliometric analysis helps determine which smart supply chain components can be examined.
