Abstract

The aim of the study is to investigate what kind of methods are using to eliminate organizational workforce needs in private and public sectors. Qualitative research method was used in the research and interviews with 17 participants were conducted with the help of semi-structured interview form. The interviews data were converted into word document in computer. Then codes, categories and themes were determined by content analysis method and analyzed with Maxqda2018 program. As a result, it has been determined that there are differences between the methods used in public and private sector in eliminating the need for organizational personnel, but that promotion and relocation from internal sources is one of the methods frequently used in the private sector. As the methods used in personnel procurement from external sources; interviewing method in the private sector is the most preferred method of selection, whereas central and institutional examinations in public organizations are the leading method of selecting labor force.
