Purpose – This study aims to examine the effects of work-leisure conflict on job satisfaction and life satisfaction of individuals working in the tourism sector. Design/methodology/approach - The research was conducted using the relational screening model. Data were collected from 208 individuals working in accommodation businesses operating in Istanbul using a survey method. Work-leisure conflict, job satisfaction and life satisfaction scales were used. Data analysis was performed using SPSS and SMART-PLS statistical programs. Findings – The research findings show that work-leisure conflict has a significant and negative effect on job satisfaction and life satisfaction. As work-leisure conflict increases, job satisfaction and life satisfaction decrease. Discussion – These findings reveal that the imbalance between work and leisure negatively affects employees' work and life satisfaction. Especially in sectors with a busy work tempo such as the tourism sector, employees experience work-leisure conflict more intensely. Accommodation businesses need to develop strategies that support employees' work-life balance.
