Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this study is to examine the mediating role of self-efficacy in the effect of inclusive leadership on innovative work behavior and work engagement of employees in Turkish defense ındustry.
Design/methodology/approach – This research was designed as a study involving 423 participants working in the defense industry in Ankara. During the data collection process, "Inclusive Leadership," "Self-Efficacy," "Innovative Work Behavior," and "Work Engagement."scales were used. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 26 and SPSS Process software to evaluate the reliability and validity of the scales, as well as the relationships and effects among the variables.
Results – The findings revealed that inclusive leaders positively affect employees' self-efficacy, innovative work behavior and work engagement.. Additionally, it was found that self-efficacy plays a mediating role in this relationship.
Discussion – These results indicate that leaders exhibiting inclusive leadership behavior in managing defense projects, encourage employees' self-efficacy, innovative work behavior and work engagement and self-efficacy is a significant factor in increasing employees' innovative work behavior and work engagement.
